'Spring Ball' at the Captains Club

The inaugural LV= Streetwise Spring Ball at the fabulous Captains Club Hotel in Christchurch went with a swing as friends and supporters raised over £1,500 for the Streetwise children’s charity on a lovely summer’s evening.

Guests were treated to a welcome drink as they enjoyed the last of the late sunshine on the hotel terrace, followed by a delicious three course meal and wine. A raffle and the auction included a cruise on the hotel’s own 34ft Motor Cruiser ‘Nauti Girl’ - out across the Bay of Christchurch, heading towards the Isle of Wight with afternoon tea and champagne for 8; tickets for LV= County Championship Cricket tickets at the Rose Bowl in Southampton and treatments from EvenLines Clinic.

As the evening progressed the beautiful harmonies of superb local live singing act ‘The Songbirds’ – sisters Emma and Laura entertained the audience until the dance floor cleared for the late night disco.

The spirit, glamour and fun of our first Ball was captured thanks to individual photographs by our official photographer Andy Rapkins of Cloudlight Photography whilst Brian and Racheal from Castle Cameras provided the printing facilities to enable guests to take away a print on the night. They donated their time, expertise and equipment to help raise funds and record unforgettable memories... Photographs were bought on the night and all are now viewable on the www.cloudlight.co.uk events section from where further and larger photographs may be purchased. Look out for more photos in the next Society Magazine!

Our special thanks go to Tim Lloyd, General Manager at the Captains Club Hotel for hosting such a wonderful evening and donating prizes and also to our other raffle and auction prize donors: including Nikki Lindon-Taylor; The Captains Club Hotel; Evenlines Clinic; LV=, Urban Reef and Urban Beach Restaurants; Kings Arms, Longham; Magnum’s, Bournemouth; Beales: Café Shore; The Print Room, Bournemouth.

And finally an extra special mention for Debbie Knight, our amazing Fundraising and Events coordinator, and husband Tim and their family without whom this event would never have happened: it was brilliant, you were all brilliant and thank you for pulling it off!!!
