Percy Jackson charity screening UPDATE

EVENT UPDATE
On Friday 12th February Bournemouth University Events Management course students - 'Lightning Bolt Events - Lucy Cook, Charlotta Eriksson, Tora Nilssen, Jessica Keogh, Charlotte Sidnell and Joanna Vincent - transformed the Tower Park Empire Cinemas foyer into a Greek paradise.
Whilst visiting children had their photo taken with 'Greek Gods', tombola prizes of film merchandise and gifts from local attractions, a 'Greek statue', face painting, goody bags and 'lucky seats' all helped to raise over £300 for LV= Streetwise.
Alison Shelton, LV= Streetwise manager said, "It was a fantastic evening. A huge 'well done and thank you' to all the students (and their friends who were persuaded to help!), the cinema and film distributors, sponsors and all who attended to make the evening such a great success."
Sponsors of the event, both monetary and goods in kind include:
Empire Cinemas Poole (Tower Park), CityEnergy Solutions, LV=, Sea Moor Fabrics, Zorbes restaurant, Go Ape, Artemis Theatre Group, Monkey Bizness, Nando’s, Candy Cabin, Game and Golden Acres Garden Centres.
The charity screening was also an opportunity for students at the Pauline Quirke Academy in Bournemouth to showcase their public information films, which were filmed at the Streetwise centre. The youngest PQA students explained how to cross the road safely while some of the older students show the importance of wearing safety clothing when riding a bicycle. Further films have been planned covering topics such as internet safety, making a 999 call, the importance of smoke alarms and stranger danger.
PQA runs every Saturday morning and is for students aged 5 to 18.
