You might have seen or heard about the work MAX did at HMYOI Portland on TV’s “Football Behind Bars” with Ian Wright. The MAX courses are specially tailored to teach children, young people and adults how to deal with the various difficult situations that they may come across.

All are designed to empower people with new confidence and skills in assertiveness.
At LV= Streetwise we can cater for clubs, businesses and other organisations, let us know what date and time will suit you and we do the rest.

We occasionally run open MAX courses which anyone can book in for. Please contact Mark Wingfield, details below, for when we will be holding our next course.

For children: Children in particular are potentially at risk every day because of environments where inappropriate or violent behaviour could occur.
The children's MAX Confidence Courses are specifically designed to teach them how to handle difficult situations including playground altercations, name calling and teasing, assessing appropriate defence and how NOT to start a fight.
Sessions use effective “real play” techniques in a fun and lively environment - within the LV= Streetwise Safety Centre. They very quickly boost confidence levels, teaching children how to stand up for themselves and be assertive, not aggressive or passive.

For young people: With experience of working with organisations from Bournemouth Borough Council and schools, colleges and universities to charities who specialise in looking after vulnerable children; we can help provide a much needed boost in confidence and the ability to assertively handle difficult situations.

For adults: Apart from the standard courses available we work with companies to look after their lone workers, help dissolve conflict between parties at work and can advise on process management, security devices and get to the root of the problem causing the conflict in the first place.

We are particularly interested in working with victims of domestic violence to use the excellent village facilities at LV= Streetwise to help

provide training to avoid and effectively handle the threat of domestic abuse. MAX has worked with a number of hostels and with children who have suffered abuse. Please contact us in confidence.
