The award winning children’s safety education charity LV= Streetwise once more teamed up with all the county’s emergency services for an action packed annual 999 Family Fun Day.
On a fabulouly sunny day over 5,000 families and children descended upon the safety centre and helped to raise nearly £2,000 to help secure the future of the children's charity.
LV= Streetwise manager Alison Shelton said, "These days there are any number of fantastic family fun days to encourage parents and children to get out and about together. At LV= Streetwise we are so proud that our annual event attracts some of the 13,000 children who visit us during their school year to come back and share everything they have learned here with their parents. To see them leading adults by the hand and showing them the 'dangers' they learned about with priceless enthusiasm is just amazing to behold. It epitomises what we are about and we thank all our supporters and our wonderful volunteers for their time and energy in helping LV= Streetwise and the children and families of Dorset to flourish."
The Grand Prize Draw on the day gave some lucky people these great prizes:

- 2hr Off Road Driving Experience for up to 3 adults/kids worth £50 thanks to Gold Driving Academy
- £25 cash

Over 5,000 people saw the LV= Streetwise Safety Village and they ...

- Saw Police, Fire, Ambulance and Dorset Fire Cadet displays
- Met Dorset Police, British Transport Police, South Western Ambulance Service and the RNLI
- Children tested their driving skills in a real car with Gold Driving Academy
- Enjoyed Mr Merlin & Okey Dokey the Dragon children’s entertainer
- Marvelled at the Dorset Youth Marching Band and the Saint john Ambulance Talbot Corps of Drums
- Had faces painted, bounced on the Bouncy castle, visited the volunteer run Cafe & BBQ
- 7 year old Sam from Bear Cross won the LV= Streetwise Home Safety Game competition www.homesafetygame.com
