Every year thousands of children are injured in preventable accidents in the home, on the roads and at play. LV= Streetwise helps to minimise the risk of accidents happening by making children aware of potential dangers in the everyday world around them.

Making it real

LV= Streetwise is a life sized, indoor, award winning, safety ‘village’ of scenarios which are traditionally built ‘bricks and mortar’ scenes from everyday life. The village includes a full sized two-storey house, a high street, a park, a farmyard, a, electricity sub-station, a heath, a beach, a building site and even Police and railway stations. By making the scenarios as realistic as possible, the exciting and memorable interactive Safety Tours enable children to easily apply the learning in their everyday life.

Through hands on interactive role play in road, fire and home safety education children:

  • Become aware of potential everyday dangers
  • Learn to make responsible choices
  • Understand possible consequences
  • Reduce the chance of accidents happening
  • Learn in a safe, controlled environment

While most of us are lucky enough to avoid major accidents or serious crime, we all deal with risk every day and may experience domestic hazards in the home or minor crime on the streets. As adults, we reduce our chances of risk by using skills we have developed through education and knowledge we have gained through experience.

LV= Streetwise can give your child a head start in their safety education, supporting parents and schools in providing them with essential skills for life.

So who should come?

Whilst the underlying message at LV= Streetwise has a serious educational theme, a tour of the centre is truly a visitor attraction with a difference. As well as group tours, we welcome individual bookings from families, children, teachers, youth groups and even senior citizens and parents wishing to update their own "streetwise skills".

LV= Streetwise is for businesses too:

  • Fire safety, first aid and personal safety training
  • Excellent value meeting room and facilities
  • Village/scenario hire for training and team building events
  • Murder Mystery Evenings

LV= Streetwise is a registered charity and a multi agency partnership project with Dorset’s emergency services, local authorities and the business community.

LV=, formerly Liverpool Victoria, were a founding partner and in 2007 after 10 years of supporting the centre, LV= increased their support to become the centre's lead commercial sponsor.

LV= Streetwise is fun, educational and unmissable - but more importantly
